Resident Evil 10: Government Shutdown

Resident Evil 10 with Chris and Leon

Due to the government shutdown, Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy are not being paid. Given that both spend way too much on their look (Chris on steroids and Leon on his hair and designer jackets), they have to find jobs.

In RE10, Chris and Leon work in a Starbucks, and the manager is Albert Wesker but he doesn’t wear sunglasses as he is a professional manager with modern motivational techniques. That dastardly blondie worked his way up and has his sights set on being the regional manager in Racoon City. Unfortunately for Chris and Leon, they need Wesker to pass probation, and so they go on missions for him. These include busy work missions like making a latte, but eventually get more extreme like beating up punks loitering outside the Starbucks.

Midway in the game, the real purpose of Wesker’s managerial job becomes apparent: T-virus coffee. As Chris and Leon try to stop Wesker from making his diabolical concoction, Racoon City goes crazy as the Latte drinkers turn into mild beasts. Coffee drinkers turn on non-coffee drinks and the flaw of Starbucks having a stranglehold over the town becomes apparent as only a few coffee drinkers are among the non-infected.

Eventually, steroid boy and hairdo bring the situation under control after a lot of boss fights, but Wesker gets away, and the shutdown ends and Chris and Leon are back on payroll.

Should we instead stick with Epstein Island for this one, or does RE10 need something more commercially driven?
