Some of the best spin-off ideas for our unseen characters in fiction. They were never important enough to have an actor play them, but here’s hoping we can change all this over time.
Maximum Dave from Another Stakeout (1992)

Maximum Dave from Another Stakeout (1993) – Judge David Hoberman is never seen, but his house is. Could we get a series going about Maximum sentencing? Check out some background on his origin here. Maximum Dave is the kind of judge who gets a season before we start needing a strong supporting cast. On another note, am I the only one who thinks Another Stakeout was better than Stakeout. I might be judging from review sites.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman’s Sister (1987)
Although she is never seen, Hartman does permit Private Joker to be intimate with her before slugging him in the stomach. We never see whether Private Joker goes for it.
Father Jimmy Ranable from Father Ted (1995)
The priest behind the Drumshanbo massacre. This won’t be an easy one but we can see a younger Jack Hackett guiding Jimmy to insanity.
Mike Yapley from I’m Alan Partridge (2002)
He may or may not have hit a prostitute. He has a heart and teeth of gold. He owns Car Supermarket. There is enough in this to get us beyond Pilot Stage. But it might be the final insult to the local community. We do know that we need an actor with a big head and a small face, or the makeup budget is going sky high.
Fred Dorfman from Animal House (1978)
Although Fred Dorfman is never actually seen, he is described as a ‘closet case’ and a member of Delta. Two details are enough to get this greenlit. The adventures of Flounder’s Older Brother are likely to be a box office bomb as most fans of the original are dead.
