No Country for Old Men finished on a very empty note. The sitcom would bring back some heart. Sheriff Tom Bell has been thrown out of his house by his wife Loretta, because he never shuts up about his dreams. He starts a new life in San Antonio and goes to live in an apartment, but we can’t make the rent on his own. So he brings in a lodger and of all the applicants, his new buddy is Anton Chigurh who works irregular hours and always comes back covered in either wounds or someone else’s blood. A running gag is that Tom Bell keeps irritating Anton with his talk about dreams and at the end of the episode, Anton pulls out a coin and tells Tom to ‘call it’. Other episodes feature Sheriff Bell and Anton on a double date with local hotties and Anton’s date always ends up dead on hilarious circumstances. Pros: Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem could still do it. Cons: Both would be too expensive.
